Mixed Emotions

I bought my tickets for 600.00 in June for the November concert. I have been a Madonna fan since the 80's and figured this may be my last chance to see her. In October, I received an email stating that the concert time had been moved from 8:30 to 10:30. This was upsetting as I had obligations the next day and even worse, no refunds were being offered. I thought about reselling my tickets, but they were now worth only half of what I had paid for them! So I decided to go ahead and attend. The venue was easy to find and parking was close and plentiful. There was a nice bar/restaurant around the corner that served impressive dishes at great prices. Getting into the venue was quick, even though we had to put our phones in a locked pouch, our bags searched, and bodies patted down. Upon entering the venue, I could instantly feel the warm humid air melting off my makeup. We made our way to our seats with the help of one of the ushers. The concert started at 10:48. The concert itself was AMAZING! It was more of a theatrical performance, than a concert. She did incorporate a political agenda, but we can't expect anything less than the unexpected from Madonna. She sang most of the songs from her Madame X release and just a few of her hits, which were the ones that brought the audience to their feet. But, despite her concert's visual stimulation, I could not thoroughly enjoy the moment because of the warmth and humidity of the room. Both my friend and I found ourselves nodding off around 1am due to the mixture of the time and the temperature. And we were not alone. The majority of the spectators were middle aged and we do not usually stay up that late! The concert ended close to 1:30am. Exiting the venue and getting our phones unlocked was quick and easy. Getting out of the parking structure was not stressful. Am I glad I went? Yes. Would I do it again? For a much lower price and an earlier time, probably.
